Ricoh Gr3
The Camera That Saw Me Through Grief
This is NOT a gear review but a reflection about photography! In a world obsessed with megapixels, specs, and the latest camera releases, it’s easy to forget what photography is really about. This video is about intention. During a strange and quiet time in the world, I started carrying a small camera everywhere with me. What began as a simple upgrade from shooting with my phone turned into something much deeper. The camera became a way to slow down, pay attention, and document the moments that make up everyday life. Empty streets. Coffee shops. Traveling with my kids. Small, ordinary scenes that become meaningful when you take the time to see them. The Ricoh GR3 is often talked about as a technical marvel or a street photographer’s dream. But for me, it became something else entirely... a reminder that photography isn’t about chasing gear. It’s about being present. It’s about carrying a camera with intention and documenting the world around you while you’re living it. Because the real power of photography isn’t in the camera. It’s in the story you decide to tell.
